The Fuji X100F is an easy-to-use, large-sensor fixed-lens compact camera that boasts an array of advanced imaging capabilities. Looking for a newer version? Check out the X100V. Key features include:
What’s New. The Fuji X100F features quite a few improvements over its predecessor, the X100T, including a 24.3MP APS-C X-Trans CMOS III sensor, an X-Processor Pro engine, Full HD video capture, AF joystick, increased operation speed, faster maximum continuous shooting rate and swap to the NP-W126S battery. That’s right, previous-generation users, the X100F dumps the NP-95 and its buggy charger for a model that works. Rejoice!
24.3MP X-Trans CMOS III Sensor. The X100F’s X-Trans III sensor produces extremely sharp and clear images throughout its normal ISO range of 200-12800, thanks to the omission of a low-pass filter.
X-Processor Pro Engine. The X-Processor Pro engine facilitates great low-light performance and supercharges operation speed. It greatly reduces startup time, shutter lag, and navigation. The combination of this engine and the X-Trans CMOS III sensor increases the maximum continuous shooting rate to 8 fps, extends the ISO-sensitivity range to 100-51200, and lets you capture Full HD video at 60p.
Advanced Hybrid Viewfinder. The Advanced Hybrid Viewfinder lets you switch between optical viewfinder (OVF) and electronic viewfinder (EVF) modes with a dedicated lever. The OVF mode recalls traditional rangefinder cameras, with an electronic rangefinder that you can adjust to 2.5x or 6x for improved accuracy. The 2.36m-dot EVF mode gives you 100% frame coverage and access to advanced electronic focusing options and precision manual focusing.
Intelligent 91-Point Hybrid Autofocus System. The X100F’s hybrid autofocus system uses contrast- and phase-detection methods for fast, accurate performance in a wide range of lighting conditions. Its 91 total points can be divided into 325 total areas for pinpoint focusing, even when capturing a fast-moving subject. And what better way to select your desired AF point than the AF joystick, a first for the X100-series.
Fujinon 23mm f/2 Lens. This integrated, fast, wide-angle lens provides a focal length equivalent to 35mm after sensor crop, which makes it great for everyday use.
Film-Simulation Modes and Filters. The X100F includes several film-simulation modes to give your shots and footage a distinct look based on many of Fujifilm’s classic film types. You get a number of monochrome modes that simulate the effects of color filters, and myriad additional filters, such as soft focus, toy camera, and partial color.
Ergonomics and Build. The retro-styled body features physical control dials for precision adjustments; a tilting 3.0-inch, 1.04m-dot touchscreen LCD; and a 2.36m-dot electronic viewfinder that provides 100% frame coverage. Most of the controls are on the right-hand side of the X100F for easy one-handed shooting.

Experience: Weekend rental.
Take: If you’re looking for a simple travel or street photography camera, this is a great option. Calling it “pocketable” might still be a stretch, but it’s small enough to let you forget you’re carrying it. Despite being a compact camera, the detail is still astonishing and the f/2 lens will still work well in most low-light situations.
