Offering a 1:1 reproduction ratio and a short 1-foot close focus distance, this L-Mount 100mm lens operates with ease in both macro and portrait applications with edge-to-edge clarity. Its seventeen-element, twelve-group optical design and apochromatic correction work together to deliver clear contract with sharp details, while its nine-blade aperture rounds out blurry highlights.
L-Mount Alliance. The Leica 100mm f/2.8 APO-Macro-Elmarit-SL belongs to the L-mount alliance, which consists of Leica, Sigma, Panasonic, DJI, and Blackmagic. With the goal of providing an extensive product line across many manufacturers, the L-mount alliance uses an L-mount standard (originally designed by Leica) for many of the latest mirrorless products coming from these brands. The design of L-mount also lends itself to easy pairing with many adapters. The large inner diameter of this mount type means faster maximum apertures without sacrificing the smaller form factor benefits of mirrorless systems.
