Advanced Optical Design. The Leica 10×42 Geovid HD-R 2700 is equipped with Leica’s Perger-Porro prism optical design, an internal stray-light suppressing baffle system, and fully multicoated HDC glass elements. Combined, these features maximize light transmission, increase contrast, and improve color fidelity without adding a ton of bulk. The 4.2mm exit pupil produces bright imagery that’s suitable for twilight and the ultra-wide 70º apparent field of view provides an immersive viewing experience and reduces the appearance of shake.

Laser Rangefinder. A built-in 2700-yard rangefinding system uses an inclinometer to measure your relative angle to your subject and a powerful (but still eye safe) infrared laser helps you easily locate your subject. It has a Spot Mode for range to a single subject and a Scan Mode for continuous measurement to multiple or moving targets. The LED overlay display offers auto-brightness adjustment and the whole laser runs off one small CR2 battery.

Build. With an open-bridge/dual-hinge design, these binoculars are sturdy yet lightweight. The distance between the eyepiece and your eyes is about 20mm, which is a comfortable amount for seeing the entire field of view without vignetting and is also excellent for those in glasses. This is further supported by twist-up eyecups. Please note there are no tripod mount threads on these binoculars. There are also no threads for filters. Durable, Waterproof Construction. The durable magnesium alloy housing is covered in a protective rubber exterior that provides shock and impact resistance. It is also nitrogen-filled and o-ring sealed to be fog-resistant, waterproof, and even submersible down to 16.5’ for up to 5 minutes. The 10×42’s center focus wheel is slip-resistant for maximum precision, even while wearing gloves.
