Large Format LPL Cine Lens. You can use the Leitz Cine THALIA-T 90mm T2.2 – and every LPL-mount lens in Leitz’s THALIA series – on LPL-mount large format professional cine cameras like (and has a highlight roll-off perfectly complemented by) the Sony VENICE 2, ARRI ALEXA LF, and ARRI ALEXA 35.

Lens Characteristics. This lens differs a bit from others in the Thalia line because it’s based on the optics of the Leica 90mm f/2.2 Thambar-M. This lens has a very soft focus when fully opened at T2.2 with unique bokeh. The lens does regain contrast as it is stopped down. While the Leitz THALIAs aren’t vintage lenses, they produce many appealing image characteristics that come with older lenses.

Cinematic Bokeh. Each of the THALIA lenses boasts a fifteen-blade aperture that maintains a circular iris through all aperture stops. While this lens purposefully has under-corrected spherical aberrations, the iris design maintains circular bokeh as the wider aperture increases the intensity of the aberration.
