Camera Compatibility. The Profoto Air Remote TTL-S Transmitter for Sony is only compatible with current-generation Sony cameras that use the Multi-Interface Hot Shoes. It isn’t compatible with Sony Auto-Lock Hot Shoe cameras, even if you use Sony’s hot-shoe adapter.

Profoto Air System. The Air Remote uses this radio-frequency system, which is built into lights like the Profoto B1 500 AirTTL Battery-Powered Monolight, the B2 250 Air TTL To-Go Kit / Location Kit, and the D2 500Ws AirTTL Monolight / 2-Light Kit.

Full E-TTL Control. This remote gives you fully automated control of compatible Profoto strobes with E-TTL II-compatible Sony cameras.

Radio Triggering. You get eight frequency channels to choose from, with three groups per channel. It offers a range of up to 330 feet when triggering via TTL, but normal manual triggering extends that range to 1,000 feet. Each channel has a power ratio adjustment of +/- 2 stops; however, if you’re manually adjusting output, you get a full +/- 9 stops of power variation.

High-Speed Sync Mode. This remote’s High-Speed Sync (HSS) Mode lets you shoot at shutter speeds as fast as 1/8,000 of a second, and helps you to control ambient light and freeze action. You can enable HSS Mode with the press of a button.

Build. The Air Remote slides into and is triggered by your Sony camera’s MIS hot shoe. There’s a digital readout of your light setup, and a variety of physical buttons for making adjustments. It’s powered by two AAA batteries, which aren’t included with this rental.
