Sennheiser EW-DX EM2 8-Ch. Network-Ready Receiver Rack Kit

The Sennheiser EW-DX EM2 8-Ch. Network-Ready Receiver Rack Kit offers just about everything you would need to ensure optimal sound coverage with good reception at an event. With this receiver-only kit, you’re provided with multiple receivers to plug in mics or instruments (mics are not included in this kit), along with a splitter to accommodate them all. Additionally, you get a couple of booster antennas, stands, and a PoE+ switch for connecting Sennheiser’s software, OBS or virtual mixers, and to maintain clean integration with rack-mounted AV equipment. Lastly, run your setup through the included 9-outlet power conditioner. This is a lot of gear, so to help maintain a safe temperature inside the rack, we’ve included a vented 1U panel spacer. For portability and mounting, all of this comes with an SKB wheeled case and a removable 13-inch 6U fly rack.

Will I need a computer or any special software to use this kit?

You’ll need a computer for remote monitoring and control, and these are the apps you’ll want to use: Control Cockpit and Wireless Systems Manager, for remote monitoring and control, and the Smart Assist app available for both Android and iOS for setup and monitoring with a smartphone or tablet.
If you need a laptop, you’re in luck- we offer several MacBook models, like the Apple 16-inch MacBook Pro with M2 Max Chip.

Does this kit include any microphones?

No, this kit doesn’t include any mics, but we do offer separately rentable microphones and transmitter kits like the Sennheiser EW-DX MKE2 and 835-S Two Transmitters Kit (Q1-9), the Sennheiser EW-DX MKE2 Two Bodypack Transmitters Kit (Q1-9), and the Sennheiser EW-DX 835-S Two Handheld Transmitters Kit (Q1-9).

Can I use the splitter with G3/G4 wireless systems?

The Sennheiser EW-D ASA splitter is backwards-compatible with Sennheiser EW G3 and G4-series receivers.

How do I mount the Sennheiser A 1031-U antenna?

The antennas comes with a built-in 5/8" port for mounting to mic stands. They also come with a 3/8" threaded adapter for light stands. This kit includes 2 stands and 2 double-ended mounting spigots.

What antennas can I use with the splitter?

You can use 1/4-wave and 1/2-wave antennas or paddle antennas. Examples include the Sennheiser Half-Wave Antennas for EW-D and the Sennheiser A 1031-U Omnidirectional UHF Antenna, which is what comes with this kit.

Is the Sennheiser A 1031-U a directional antenna?

No, this is an omnidirectional antenna which means it will pick up whatever is all around it and not just what it is pointed at.
