The Voice-coil eXtreme-torque Drive (VXD) smoothly operates autofocus features quietly and precisely, while its expanded 107° FOV gives you more advantage over landscape, architecture, and astrophotography capture.

Updated Optics. The sixteen-group/twelve-element optical formula incorporates XLD and LD elements to give you sharp, high-contrast images across the image plane. Each element features Tamron’s BBAR-G2 coating to combat flare and ghosting for even greater contrast in backlit and harsh lighting conditions.

Fast, Accurate Autofocus. The 16-30mm is equipped with a VXD more to support quick, accurate, and smooth autofocus, making it ideal for still and video use. It also offers full-time manual-focus override for even greater precision. Its 7.5-inch minimum focusing distance makes it useful for working with close-up subjects.
