What’s Changed? Continuing the series of reliable and powerful FJ strobes, the Westcott FJ100 100Ws Touchscreen Strobe w/ FJ Mini Battery brings quite a few changes to its “big sister”. To start, the 5500K color temperature of the FJ400 II is slightly increased to 6000K temperature, while the modifier mount has changed from the standard Bowens S mount to a Twist Lock mount. The FJ100 features a smaller build, and is less than half of the weight. While the FJ400 II is a more powerful option for large studio or production needs with a 400W power range, this compact monolight integrates easily into more applications as a 100W powerhouse. Recycling times are about 7 seconds longer with this update, however, the continuous burst rate has been improved from 50 fps to 60 fps!

A great addition to any studio or production, the FJ800 also boasts a 9-stop power range in 0.1 and 1.0 increments, a 1/16,500 peak action-stopping flash duration in Freeze mode, high-speed sync support up to 1/8000 second, as well as front and rear curtain sync.

Modes and More. In addition to the typical manual and TTL flash modes, the FJ100 also features Creative Mask Mode. Creative Mask Mode is a great option during high-volume and fast-paced shoots, and allows you to create up to six lighting combinations without having to move any fixtures. With the integrated LCD display touchscreen, you have access to intuitive and easy-to-learn controls that expand your lighting opportunities.

Wireless and Compatibility. The FJ100 has an integrated 31-channel, 16-group, 2.4 GHz wireless radio frequency with a range of 328 feet. Part of Westcott’s 2.4 GHz FJ wireless system, this monolight is backwards compatible with all FJ triggers and flashes to create a unified lighting arrangement.

Power in a Flash. This entire operation is fueled by a single included Westcott FJ Mini Battery. A full charge grants you up to 700 full-power flashes and thousands of low-power flashes, and recharges in just 2.3 hours.
