The Sony A 500mm f/4 G SSM is a professional-grade super telephoto lens in the Sony A-mount. Key features include:
Long Reach. The 500mm focal length allows you to capture subjects at a great distance. This is an ideal choice for sports and wildlife photography, or any time your subject is far away. The f/4 aperture lets in more light than any comparable focal length zoom, allowing better performance in low light.
SSM Autofocus Motor. The piezoelectric-driven motor provides extremely fast and accurate autofocusing, which is a necessity for the fast-moving subjects the lens was designed to capture. The internal focusing design keeps everything moving quickly, while the four focus-hold buttons and dual Direct Manual Focus (DMF) modes give you plenty of flexibility for minute tweaking.
High Quality Optics. The optical formula includes three Extra-low Dispersion (ED) elements and Nano AR lens coatings for aberration-free images with excellent contrast and minimal internal reflections.
Professional Build. The strong magnesium barrel protects the optics while keeping the lens’s weight light. Dust- and moisture-resistant sealing keeps the elements out. There’s an integrated rotating tripod foot for use with monopod or tripod, and the included lens hood helps prevent lens flaring from the sun.
Sony A-mount. This lens is designed for Sony A-mount cameras such as the Sony Alpha a99 II, but can be used with Sony E-mount cameras and camcorders via Sony A-Mount Lens to E-Mount Adapter.
