The Blackmagic Design PYXIS Monitor Kit (Standard) includes a versatile 5" HDR monitor and the accessories needed to mount it almost anywhere on a PYXIS 6K/12K, URSA Cine 12K, or URSA Cine 17K. Key features include:

Powerful Camera Add-On. Designed specifically for the PYXIS (but also compatible with the URSA Cine 12K and URSA Cine 17K), the Blackmagic Design PYXIS Monitor Kit (Standard) is easily attachable thanks to multiple mounting points and the included fixed and swivel mounts. It is 5", so slightly larger than the PYXIS 6K or 12K’s fixed monitor, and allows your crew to easily monitor shots from nearly any position, including in bright sunlight. This rental includes a monitor dovetail shoe, a swivel mount, and a fixed mount. If you want an URSA Cine EVF bracket rod mount and Cine EVF rotating bracket in order to mount this monitor in the position of an EVF, check out the Blackmagic Design PYXIS Monitor EVF Kit.

Easy Control of Key Functions. This monitor is equipped with a touchscreen interface and three customizable buttons for fast access to features like timecode, ISO, zebra, focus assist, false color, focus assist, LUTs, and so much more. It is powered over easily-accessible USB-C which also allows the monitor to be mounted off-camera on cranes or gimbals (a bright tally light is visible from a good distance during recording). Please note that the monitor can only be powered off the front USB-C port if pairing with the PYXIS 6K (both USB-C ports will work with the PYXIS 12K). The Blackmagic PYXIS Monitor Kit is a great option for elevating your PYXIS workflow on set and out in the field.

Compatible Configurations. It has not been officially validated by the manufacturer whether this monitor, the PYXIS Pro Grip, and the Pro Handle can all be used together. However, we did our own in-house tests and got the following results in a variety of configurations:

Camera + Monitor: Worked on PYXIS 6K and PYXIS 12K
Camera + Pro Grip: Worked on PYXIS 6K and PYXIS 12K
Camera + Pro Handle: Worked on PYXIS 6K and PYXIS 12K
Camera + Monitor + Pro Grip: Tested with Canon Compact-Servo 18-80mm T4.4 L IS EF on PYXIS 12K and worked. Did not work with PYXIS 6K.
Camera + Monitor + Pro Handle: Tested with Canon Compact-Servo 18-80mm T4.4 L IS EF on PYXIS 12K and worked. Did not work with PYXIS 6K.

Q & A

Is there anything else I should know about this rental?

Yes. Both versions of the Monitor Kit are meant to integrate seamlessly with the PYXIS 6K or 12K body via dedicated pins and mounting points. If using the Tilta PYXIS Cage and Xeno Top Handle with this kit, essential mounting points become inaccessible, making this kit incompatible.
Although this kit won’t be compatible with the Cage and Top Handle combo, it can be used with just the Cage alone. Just grab a Noga MG9038CA CineArm MG to mount your monitor to the cage!
There is an alternative setup with the EVF version of this kit that is compatible with the combination of the Cage and Top Handle!

What's the difference between the Blackmagic Design PYXIS Monitor Kit (Standard) and the Blackmagic Design PYXIS Monitor Kit (EVF)?

The main difference lies in their mounting capabilities and included accessories.
The Monitor Kit (EVF) includes a URSA Cine EVF bracket and rods, allowing the monitor to be mounted in place of an EVF.
The Monitor Kit (Standard) includes standard mounting accessories for general camera attachment. The Blackmagic Design URSA Cine EVF is available if you prefer a monitor and EVF!

Will this monitor work on the URSA Broadcast G2 cameras?

No. It will only support URSA Cine and PYXIS cameras.
