Q & A

Is this camera/lens combo compatible with any zoom controllers?

Any of our Libec LANC controllers or Manfrotto pan bar are capable of triggering record or engaging the servo zoom from the camera’s LANC port. Iris and focus can only be controlled through the camera body or lens when paired with these remotes.
For a more sophisticated, studio style control kit, we recommend the Fujinon MS-X1.

Do you offer an all-in-one kit for this?

We sure do! We offer the Blackmagic Design Ursa Broadcast Studio Kit as a way to get you going as a more complete kit with a different lens. The only other things you’ll need to add are a tripod and some media, if necessary. If you have any questions, please contact us.

Does this B4 lens feature an extender?

No. This lens does not feature an extender. We do offer the Fujinon XA20SX8.5BERM-K3 B4 Lens for 2/3 Sensors as a separate rental item. If you need a focal length beyond that, contact us and we will be happy to help you determine the right gear for your shoot.

Do you rent this camera without the lens?

Yep! So many customers requested this option that we now offer the Blackmagic URSA Broadcast Camera as a stand-alone item for those of you who already own lenses and other accessories.

Does this rental include DaVinci Resolve?

Due to copyright, we can’t include DaVinci Resolve with rentals. You may download DaVinci Resolve for free here.

Will this camera work with any B4 lens?

Yes. Any B4 mount broadcast lens for 2/3-inch systems will mount to this camera. A broadcast lens control connector is also available for lens power and control of compatible lenses.

Are there any recording limitations with using SD memory?

Raw HD and 4K/30p ProRes can be recorded to UHS-II SD memory cards. You can find a list of manufacturer-recommended SD cards and formats they support here.
If you’re looking to record in higher resolutions and frame rates, you’ll need to use CFast 2.0 memory cards. You can find a list of manufacturer-recommended CFast 2.0 cards and formats they support here.
