Animal In A Cage. Designed specifically for Sony’s FX3, FX3A, and FX30, this camera cage provides extensive expandability for both horizontal and vertical shooting. The grip area has a hinge arm for accessing the battery slot and there are a plethora of accessory mount options all over the cage for attaching a monitor, follow focus, Magic Arm, side handles, microphones, and LEDs (there is also cold shoe for mounting). This is technically a “half cage” setup, as the main unit does not wrap all the way around the camera. Instead, there is an included NATO rail top plate you can use if your rig isn’t using a Sony XLR handle or you want to use a different handle (handle not included). Capabilities and Possibilities. There are dedicated slots on the cage for a strap and included in this kit is a foam-padded, wear-resistant microfiber hand strap. The 4.5" NATO rail and handle extension are great add-ons for the XLR handle unit. A standard Arca-style plate at the bottom allows for easy switching between tripod and handheld modes and an HDMI cable clamp will secure your cable to the rig.
