The Westcott FJ250 is an update to the Westcott FJ200 and bridges the gap between that strobe and the FJ400. Key features include:
Full-color built-in OLED touchscreen control
1/8,000 high-speed sync and 1/29,600 freeze sync
Battery-powered up to 1,400 pops (850 at full power)
5.5" reflector, magnetic gels, and battery included
Industry-Leading Speed. With a 0.01 to 0.9 seconds recycle time and flash speeds up to 1/29,600th of a second, the FJ250 is prepared for complex, action-packed shoots. Supporting this is the integration of Creative Mask Mode, which allows you to set up six individual strobes to shoot sequentially for near-simultaneous capture of six unique lighting patterns. This is a great feature for time-crunched headshot assignments or high-volume work.
Integrates with FJ System. The FJ250 offers seamless compatibility with all other FJ triggers, strobes, and flashes and also pairs with the Westcott StudioLink app for full control directly from your smartphone. With a 31-channel, 16-group RF system, the FJ250 operates with little-to-no interference for easy firing among multiple setups with a range of over 300’.
Portable Power. An included rechargeable battery provides up to 1,400 flash pops (up to 850 at full power) on a 1.5-hour charge. The AC charger supports pass-through trickle charging for extended strobe use. This is among Westcott’s most power-efficient strobes to date.
Bowens Mount for Wide Compatibility. Providing as close to a universal system as possible, the FJ250 comes with a Bowens S-type mount insert that is compatible with a wide range of modifiers, including not only Westcott’s own Rapid Box Switch system but Aputure light domes and reflectors. Also included with this kit is a Bowens-mount reflector that sports a magnetic lip to hold gels. This kit comes with CTO, 1/2 CTO, green, and diffusion gels. Lastly, there is a port on the receiver bracket for mounting umbrella-style modifiers.
Modeling Light and Overall Build. The Westcott FJ250 includes a 12W bi-color LED modeling lamp, a 5/8" receiver bracket for mounting on C-stands, and a 3.5mm port for pairing with sync cables (a great feature for those wanting to use PocketWizard triggers). With the battery, the strobe comes in at under 5 pounds and is 8" long. The FJ250 continuously monitors its internal temperature and auto-manages heat during bursts.
